Fragmentation

The body is the anchor for all actions of human intimacy, be it physical connection to the senses and reciprocal action, or by means of exploring emotions and the mind.
Using the tactile medium of the casting process, with my own body as the subject, I tell a story of the intimate connection I have within my own self, inviting the viewer into an intensely personal exploration of how it feels to live in my own skin.
With ceramic casts that capture a permanent experience of the feelings of fragility within my body, and audio which voices the intrusive thoughts and self-reflection this intimate process demanded.
I create a dialogue between the art and the viewer, opening a space to normalise contemplation of the relationships we have with our bodies, both good and bad.
Fragmentation is an exploration of disconnection within my own body.
