Liminality

Through photography and video, 'Liminality' creates a story that speaks to the emotional state within a submersion into depression and disassociation.
The setting of a dilapidated building in itself becomes a between space, a metaphor between a calm mind and a breakdown of mental health.
Twilight is the border between night and day, a liminal state between one moment and the next. It is a state of ambiguity or a third space in a threshold between two states of being.
Taking this liminality of twilight, it is possible to explore the third space through subconscious trauma, represented within a condemned asylum.
